North Kesteven District Council will be the first local authority in the country to build straw houses to be used as social housing.

A biomass power plant is being planned for Sleaford, Lincolnshire. It is expected to produce enough electricity for 65,000 homes and use straw and woodchip sourced within 50 miles of the plant.
