Eco-friendly milk carton launched

Milk bottles at ASDA get a green makeover with the launch of an innovative recycled cardboard version: the first milk bottle in the UK to be 91 percent recycled (from waste office paper) and 99 percent recyclable. The two litre milk bottle, created by GreenBottle, has a carbon footprint that is 48 percent lower than plastic.

The first ever UK-wide recycled content HDPE (High-density polyethylene, a petroleum based product) bottle will be available from next year, following a landmark agreement between Nampak Plastics Europe and Closed Loop London.
