BWM will be unveiling their new, electrically-powered Mini E at the Los Angeles Auto Show on 19/20 November 2008. 500 Mini E vehicles will then be shipped to the US states of California, New York and New Jersey for testing with private and corporate customers.

As world leaders pressed Saudi Arabia to increase the production of oil to alleviate the record prices of oil, George Monbiot (environmental author and Guardian columnist) wrote an open letter to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia asking him to "ignore" the Prime Minister's request.

Last weekend was the first UK Aware event held in London's Barbican Centre.  It seemed the ideal opportunity to find out what people thought were the important green issues, so we did a survey of all the stall-holders.

Today, at a seminar hosted by WWF-UK, the Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, declared that his "overriding aim" is to hold the rise in global average temperature to no more than 2°C.  An ambition welcomed by WWF.
