Green residents in the Caerphilly county borough can pick up a bargain compost bin at a special sales day taking place in Ystrad Mynach this weekend (Saturday 11th August).

Caerphilly county borough council is offering local people the chance to buy a home composter for just £10.00 and join the growing ranks of keen recyclers who are doing their bit to help the environment.

The average person throws away seven times their own body weight in waste every year. Composting alone can reduce this by at least 30%, so what better way of doing your bit for the environment, with the added benefit of producing top quality compost for the garden.

Composting at home will help reduce the amount of waste you put out for collection, meaning you’ll have less rubbish to store until bin day – particularly useful if you’re tight on space – because nature will have started the process of recycling some of it for you.

The huge amount of kitchen and garden waste we generate can easily be turned into high quality compost using a home compost bin.

The sales day for compost bins will take place on Saturday 11th August, between 10:00am and 3:00pm at Dyffryn House on the Dyffryn Industrial Estate,
Ystrad Mynach.

The compost bins are available to all residents living within the Caerphilly county borough and will be sold at £10 each.
