Knowsley Flower Show is at Court Hey Park, Huyton on Sunday August 5 and this year an entire section is dedicated to protecting the environment.
There will be information on home composting, alternative energy and recycling and 'meadow' flower making workshops, with creative ways of reducing our carbon footprint.
The event also celebrates The Mersey Forest's 'Forest Fever Fortnight', with woodland crafts and information about the park's own natural heritage.
Visitors will be encouraged to use recycling points across the site to dispose of rubbish and travel to the event on public transport.
Parking at Court Hey Park will be extremely limited because of recent bad weather.
The show will have all the usual favourites - amazing flower displays and plant sales, a craft marquee, Youth Arts Friendship Field, circus skill shows, live music and a children's fairground.
Cllr Eddie Connor, cabinet member for leisure, community and culture said:
?This event is now in its ninth year and goes from strength to strength, with some marvellous things to see and do. Looking after the environment is so important and the flower show is an excellent opportunity for us to get some of our green messages across. It's a serious message but presented in a way that is fun and creative, offering us all an opportunity to protect our planet.?
