On 1st July, two key pieces of legislation come into force in the UK: the final parts of the Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment (WEEE) Directive – relating to the recycling of electrical waste, and England goes smoke free.

From 1st July, Comet, as a leading producer and retailer of electrical goods, will become responsible for making it easier for consumers to recycle their electrical waste. To coincide with the new legislation, the company is expanding its collection and recycling service for large electrical items so that everyone, not just Comet customers can benefit.

For a standard charge of ?20.00 Comet will take away your item for recycling, regardless of where you purchased it, taking away the hassle of having to arrange disposal yourself. The standard charge for customers will be ?7.50.
