E.ON UK has organised a public exhibition to keep local people fully informed of its plans to build a five turbine wind farm on land between the villages of Barmer, Bagthorpe and Syderstone.

The exhibition, which will feature details of the proposed Chiplow wind farm, will take place in the Amy Robsart Village Hall in Syderstone on Thursday 14th June, from 2pm to 8pm, and on Friday 15th June, from 9am to 1pm.

Ali Parker, Project Developer for E.ON UK, said: ?We believe it's extremely important to us to keep the community fully informed about our plans, and that's why we've set up this exhibition.

?We've already sent out a newsletter to local people with details of the proposal, but I'd certainly urge everyone to come along to see the plans, to talk to us about any issues they might have and to find out why we think this is such a great place for a wind farm.

?We're also going to have some energy efficiency products to give away, as well as some fun activities for adults and children to help them find out more about energy efficiency and renewable energy.?

If approved, Chiplow's five wind turbines could generate power for up to 5,000 homes and could make a significant contribution to the East of England's target of generating 14% of electricity from renewable sources by 2010.
